Revealing the Glory

Revealing the glory of our sanctuary in the city!

After over 170 years the cathedral is now in need of major repair work & refurbishment, however the repair and renovation of this beautiful cathedral is a major operation and will take many years to complete.

You can read about the ongoing progress here.

We are also lucky that the talented architectural photographer Andy Marshall will be capturing images of the Cathedral throughout this campaign, as a record of the transition of the Cathedral for future generations. We will be sharing his photos during our restoration journey.

How can you help?

The restoration work will require careful planning, minimal disruption and a large amount of money. We will utilise all available funding streams and grants and our team will be researching the most appropriate methods of applying for this financial assistance.

However, if you could like to donate to the Cathedral Development Fund. You can do so online via this link and selecting the development fund.

We would also like to engage with our parish community, our neighbours and visitors to this glorious Cathedral. We welcome all fundraising ideas and our team will consider each one we recieve. If you have an idea please email cathedral@dioceseofsalford.org.uk

Preserving this Cathedral is making history. Thank you for all your support to help generations to come will be able to enjoy a place which has been in the hearts of Salford people for over 170 years.
